From STEM Ambassadors and attending school careers fairs, to local and national media interviews, and writing reports to inform public policy, our fellows find many different ways to share their work and raise awareness of the impact of clinical research. Fellows contribute to new report
Mo Al-Talib contributed to a new report co-authored by fellow Bnar Talabani for the Kidney Research UK Health Inequalities Report entitled “TIME TO ACT: A new review of kidney health inequalities” published July 2024.
Information Dissemination – Claire Salter
Claire Salter developed and continues to curate the PI4KA website, hosted by the University of Exeter. The aim of the website is to build a support network for families affected by PI4KA-related disorders and a patient registry to facilitate life-changing research.


Scientific Discussions – Lowri Allen
Listen to Lowri Allen’s presentation for theSugarScience ‘an interactive digital platform founded to curate the scientific conversation among type 1 diabetes (T1D) researchers‘. where she discusses, relative maternal protection against type 1 diabetes in offspring as compared with paternal disease.
Neuroscience Festival – Mike Ambler
Mike manned an exhibit as the Bristol Neuroscience Festival a popular, three day, public science event celebrating all things neuroscience. The aim is to share research in accessible, hands-on, exciting ways, to inspire young researchers of the future.


Citizen Science – Judith Harrison
Neuroswipe, an app created by staff and students from Cardiff University, is helping scientists sort through thousands of brain scan images. The app encourages members of the public to take part in categorising the images. Judith Harrison, led the project, and has recently published on the study.
